An Essential Mission: Building A Home During COVID-19
8 Locust Grove Rd, Saratoga Springs
Home is more than a place—it’s the foundation of safety, stability, and hope, especially in challenging times. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, home became the frontline defense for all of us. While many have been fortunate to find security and refuge within their homes, others in our community haven’t had that same privilege. Essential workers—those stocking our grocery shelves, cleaning our hospitals, teaching our children—have been tirelessly serving us, yet many struggle to afford safe, stable housing for themselves and their families.
At Habitat for Humanity, we believe no one should have to choose between paying rent, fixing their car, or feeding their family. Affordable housing is the key to providing that choice, and throughout the pandemic, our work remained essential. We continued to build homes, foster community, and offer hope to families who needed it the most. That’s the power of your support in action!
Our latest project on Locust Grove Rd in Saratoga Springs is a testament to what we can accomplish together. In just a few months, we’ve cleared the land, laid the foundation, and built the framework for a home that will soon provide stability for a family. Though COVID-19 altered how we typically work, we adapted—keeping volunteers safe while still pushing forward. Now, we’re welcoming volunteers back, following safety protocols to keep our mission going strong.
This journey wouldn’t be possible without you. Thanks to the unwavering support of our volunteers, corporate partners, and local businesses, we continue to build homes, communities, and hope—now more than ever. Together, we are creating lasting change for families who need it most.
